Job Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the GOAT and ORC teams. This role focuses on building robust, scalable test automation frameworks and tools to validate distributed systems and microservices powering Fusion's technology stack.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated test frameworks for complex, event-driven distributed systems.
- Develop and maintain integration, performance, and reliability tests for services built with Go, GraphQL, and microservices architectures.
- Ensure test coverage across gRPC APIs, Kafka Eventing, DocumentDB, OpenSearch, SpiceDB, and AWS Neptune integrations.
- Drive adoption of the testing pyramid: a) Unit tests (Go, Ginkgo), b)Integration tests, c) Performance tests (K6)
- Collaborate with developers to embed quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Analyse test results, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements for system performance and reliability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and continuous quality validation.
Requirements
- Strong experience in test automation for distributed systems and microservices.
- Proficiency in Go and familiarity with Ginkgo for behaviour-driven testing.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., K6).
- Understanding of event-driven architectures, upsert patterns, and distributed data practices.
- Knowledge of SpiceDB, AWS Neptune, and OpenSearch is highly desirable.
- Expertise in cloud-native design and commercial cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
