Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our software platforms.
This role requires a strong background in test automation, functional testing, and quality engineering, along with the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers. You will be responsible for defining testing strategies, building robust automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality releases in fast-paced Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and execution of functional, regression, integration, and system test cases for complex applications.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Proactively identify test gaps, edge cases, and potential risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
- Perform root cause analysis for defects and production issues; provide actionable insights to engineering teams.
- Participate in and influence test strategy, test planning, estimation, and release sign-off activities.
- Conduct performance, load, and scalability testing, where required to ensure enterprise-level reliability.
- Actively support production issue triage, collaborate with Support teams, and drive swift resolution with proper RCA documentation.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in automation, testing standards, and quality ownership.
- Continuously improving QA processes, automation coverage, and CI/CD test integration.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in quality engineering and test automation.
- Build strong working relationships across teams and contribute to a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation and functional testing.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation testing tools and frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar.
- Solid experience in defect management, test reporting, and quality metrics.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and similar.
- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Exposure to cloud-based environments and modern DevOps practices.
