Position Overview
Simplify Healthcare is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong balance of manual and automation testing expertise to ensure the reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance of our healthcare platform.
This role plays a key part in maintaining high quality across complex payer workflows while supporting rapid product development in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will take ownership of QA strategy, automation frameworks, and quality best practices, working closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams across global locations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Ownership & Testing
- Own and execute end‑to‑end quality assurance activities across the Simplify Healthcare platform
- Perform and lead manual testing for complex business workflows, regulatory scenarios, and edge cases
- Validate healthcare payer workflows including enrollment, benefits, claims, billing, and configuration modules
Automation & CI/CD
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality assurance
Test Design & Defect Management
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and traceability matrices aligned with business and regulatory requirements
- Identify, log, track, and validate defects; perform root‑cause analysis to drive quality improvements
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and offshore/onshore teams to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Quality Leadership
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, data integrity, and security requirements
- Mentor junior QA engineers and advocate for QA best practices across the team
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong mix of manual and automation testing
- Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, or similar
- Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle
- Experience testing web applications, APIs (REST/SOAP), and backend services
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language: Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, and Git
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Prior experience in healthcare, health insurance, payer, or regulated domains
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, data security, and regulatory testing
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Working knowledge of SQL and database validation
