About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior ETL QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of data pipelines and integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL and API testing, along with a solid understanding of data validation and quality frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for ETL processes and APIs
- Perform end-to-end ETL testing including source-to-target validation
- Validate REST/SOAP APIs for data exchange, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability
- Conduct data reconciliation, data profiling, and data quality checks
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis
- Validate data transformations, mappings, and business rules
- Collaborate with ETL developers, API developers, and business stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage
- Identify, log, and track defects through resolution using defect management tools
- Perform regression, integration, and system testing across data workflows and APIs
- Participate in requirement analysis and provide inputs on testability and quality risks
Required Skills & Qualifications (Mandatory)
- 5–10 years of experience in ETL/Data Testing or QA roles
- Strong hands-on experience in ETL Testing (source-to-target validation, data reconciliation)
- Hands-on experience in API Testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar
- Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, subqueries, performance tuning basics)
- Experience with data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, SCDs)
- Strong understanding of data quality and validation techniques
- Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in MDM Testing (Master Data Management systems)
- Experience with Informatica tools (IDMC, CDI, IDQ/CDQ, MDM)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of automation in ETL/API testing (Python, scripting, or frameworks)
- Experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
- Exposure to big data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop) is a plus
