Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who is passionate about product quality, has strong hands-on experience in manual testing, and can independently own test planning and execution across web and API layers. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced SaaS environment and collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end test planning and test strategy for assigned modules and releases.
- Analyze product requirements and create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Perform thorough manual testing of web-based applications to ensure functional, usability, and regression coverage.
- Execute API testing (REST) using tools like Postman or similar to validate data accuracy, business logic, and integrations.
- Perform SQL testing by writing queries to validate backend data, data integrity, and reports.
- Conduct load and performance testing using JMeter to identify system bottlenecks, scalability issues, and performance risks.
- Collaborate closely with developers to identify, log, track, and verify defect fixes.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release sign-offs.
- Ensure adherence to QA best practices, documentation standards, and release quality benchmarks.
- Mentor junior QA team members and review test artifacts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in a SaaS / product-based environment.
- Strong experience in test planning, test case design, and manual testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing (REST APIs).
- Good working knowledge of SQL for database validation and backend testing.
- Practical experience in load and performance testing using JMeter.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to Have
- Exposure to automation testing concepts or tools (even if hands-on automation is limited).
- Experience testing data-heavy platforms, analytics dashboards, or AI-driven products.
- Understanding of cloud-based systems and microservices architecture.
