Senior QA Engineer ONCOassist

Background

ONCOassist is a CE-marked clinical decision-support application used by oncology professionals in over 180 countries — one of the first apps in the world certified as a medical device. Our core product team is fully remote, based in Kerala, building tools oncologists use daily in their clinical decision-making.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own manual and automated testing across web, mobile (iOS & Android), and API surfaces. You'll work within a cross-functional team spanning Android, iOS, backend, and infrastructure, with accountability for your testing area from investigation through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API layers
• Maintain quality standards appropriate to a certified medical device product
• Investigate issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and partner with developers through resolution
• Collaborate closely with Android, iOS, backend, and infra teams
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of QA experience with strong manual testing across web, mobile, and API
• At least 1 year of automation testing experience (Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with JIRA, Postman, and TestRail or equivalent
• Genuine Agile/Scrum experience
• Strong ownership mindset, reliable and effective working independently
• Ability to investigate issues, triage, and contribute to RCA discussions
• Strong cross-functional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or another regulated domain
• Broader automation framework or CI/CD exposure

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential.
• Third level qualification in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5 years working in iOS/Android/QA environment with a minimum of 3 years in QA.
• Experience with the development and deployment of automated testing solutions.
• Programming/scripting - preferably using Java, Objective C, Swift.

Desirable Experience:

• Embedded software QA or development experience in iOS and Android.
• Experience of development and testing in a Scrum/Agile environment.
• Project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience developing/testing mobile applications.
• Experience with git, JIRA, Confluence.
