We have a great opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer - Order Capture & Payments to join the Enterprise Solutions team, within the Ferguson IT organization. This position will involve testing of small to large size software enhancements. The ideal candidate will have experience with testing application software, have the technical ability to validate data updates to the database, along with strong social skills to connect with both technical and non-technical associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall 3+ years of QA Functional testing. Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and standard processes.
  • Must have extensive Manual / Functional testing experience.
  • Some hands-on experience in Automation testing using Selenium with Java, Python, etc., with a focus on Business-Driven Development (i.e. Cucumber) is a nice to have.
  • Able to write test plans, create and execute test scripts, and report defects, clearly, for Functional Testing.
  • Involved in peer-review of test scripts for Functional, Smoke, Regression, and System testing.
  • Organizing, monitoring defect management process.
  • Attend status calls as needed to report on testing progress.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced quality assurance engineers in standard methodologies for quality.
  • Collaborate closely with onshore team member(s) to communicate timelines, progress, and the work you'll be doing on the project.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related.
  • Overall 3+ years of QA Functional testing. Good understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and standard processes.
  • Experience with Project & Quality Management tools such as Atlassian/Confluence, JIRA, qTest / ALM.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Solid understanding of the STLC, various testing concepts (e.g. functional, usability, performance) and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Experience using postman.
  • Experience in testing cash sale and point of sales functionality a plus.
  • Good teammate, go-getter demeanor, and able to work independently in a faced-paced environment.
  • Experience in working UniData / Mainframe is a plus.
  • Experience in supply chain testing is a plus.
  • Experience in performance testing is a plus.

Nice to have :

  • 2+ years hands-on experience building test suites with Playwright.
  • Design, scale, and maintain stable end-to-end and integration testing frameworks using Playwright.
