About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Functional QA Engineer to join our QA team and ensure high-quality delivery across applications and services. This is a hands-on role focused on testing the application functionality for enterprise applications (using UI / API), working closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements and ensure reliable system behavior.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Testing:

Review business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to derive effective test scenarios and test cases.

Execute sanity, regression, integration, and system testing for the AUT.

Ensure complete coverage of business workflows and edge cases.

API Testing:

Perform API testing using Postman or other REST clients.

Should be able to implement response validation and data transfer between requests, using scripting.

Test API integrations across services and identify defects early in the cycle.

Defect Management & Reporting:

Report various kinds of defects as per the defined templates and process, and own them till closure.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and verification of issues.

Collaboration & Agile Participation:

Work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements.

Participate in various agile ceremonies with relevant project stakeholders.

Support UAT cycles and assist in release sign-offs when required.

Quality Standards & Documentation:

Follow QA best practices, processes, and documentation standards.

Prepare and maintain test cases, test reports, and execution summaries.

Required Skills & Experience

• 48 years of hands-on experience in Functional QA.
• Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
• Proven experience in API testing using Postman or similar REST clients.
• Ability to validate API contracts, status codes, headers, and data integrity.
• Experience in writing clear test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

Candidates having hands-on experience with writing, executing and maintaining automated test scripts will be preferred.

Knowledge in Performance testing (using JMeter or k6) will be considered an added advantage.

Exposure to building an automation framework (any framework or tool such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.) using Javascript/Typescript.

Experienced in testing cloud-based enterprise applications.
