Role :

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test who will become part of Creditsafe team to support organisation in delivering high quality software to customers. You will act as a primary source of guidance to All Test Engineers in all areas of testing. You will research, create automation framework required to support software delivery. Contribute to the new or existing automation framework with practical experience of implementation using established and recognised design patterns. You can confidently communicate test results with your team members and stakeholders using evidence. You act as a mentor and coach to all members of the test team. You will promote and coach leading practices in test management, design, and implementation. You are an influencer and will provide leadership in defining and implementing agreed standards and will actively promote this within your team and the wider development community.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in mentorship and leading by example and is able to communicate values consistent with the Creditsafe philosophy of engagement. You understand that skilled testing comprises more than just the automation of user-stories. You understand, and can articulate, the value of exploratory testing. You have critical thinking skills and can diplomatically communicate within, and outside their areas of responsibility, challenging assumptions where required.

We will use React to create a single unified website for our customers supplemented by .Net Core microservice APIs. You will have experience in working with modern front-end testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Cypress. You have experience with API testing using a tool such as Postman. You have experience with Performance testing using JMeter tool. You able to work with CI and CD environment. You able to research on any tool available in market.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in developing and maintaining UI and API using commercial or open-source test automation frameworks
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Hands-on experience using AI to improve productivity in STLC
• Proficiency in version control tools like Git
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Practical experience of applying industry recognised test methodologies and processes
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines
• A good understanding of cloud technology, preferably AWS
• Practical experience of conducting code reviews
• Previous experience with mentoring Test Engineers and Junior Test Engineers
• Excellent communication skills
• A good documentation skill

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools or concepts
• LLM evaluation using any framework
• Practical experience of pair testing and pair programming

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test strategies for new projects and products
• Review and refine test processes for existing projects/products
• Stay updated with industry trends and adopt best practices to refine testing methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create test plans for sprint and release cycles
• Plan and execute testing for major releases across the organization
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues early
• Analyze project needs to determine the scope of automation testing
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend tools and frameworks for automation
• Design and develop scalable UI and API test automation frameworks
• Define and track automation metrics to measure effectiveness and coverage
• Stay current with updates in existing tools and frameworks
• Conduct research and proof of concepts (POC) for new testing tools and technologies
• Own and drive, pull request (PR) reviews to ensure high-quality automation code
• Define meaningful testing metrics to evaluate quality assurance efforts
• Proficient in version control systems (Git) to manage and review test automation codebases
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for test strategies, frameworks, and automation tools
• Work with DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on automation frameworks, tools, and best practices
• Track and present reports on test coverage, automation effectiveness, and risk areas
• Is the quality specialist within test team and advocates for the appropriate levels of testing
• Documents approaches and processes that improve the quality effort for use by the wider test function
• Strong practical knowledge of software testing techniques and the ability to advise on, and select, the correct technique dependent on the problem at hand
• Conducts analysis of the teams test approach, taking a proactive role in the formulation of the relevant quality criteria in line with the team goals
• Work with team members to define standards and processes applicable to their area of responsibility
• Monitor progress of team deliverables, injecting quality concerns in a timely, effective manner
• Gain a sufficient understanding of the system architecture to inform their test approach and that of the test engineers
• Able to jump into any new and existing team and setup a quality process
