Job Description: Senior QA Engineer (Automation & Manual)

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in Automation and Manual Testing. You will take ownership of quality processes, collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders, and leverage modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to deliver high-quality software in an Agile environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Playwright (Preferred), Selenium.
- Perform manual testing – functional, regression, integration, cross-browser, and UI/UX validation.
- Lead creation of test strategies, test plans, and test cases; identify coverage gaps and drive improvements.
- Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test creation, debugging, and documentation.
- Engage with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate quality status effectively.
- Identify, document, and track defects in Github; perform root cause analysis and verify fixes.
- Conduct API testing using Postman, Swagger, or Playwright API testing capabilities.
- Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices and testing methodologies.
- Contribute to QA process improvements, standards, and documentation across the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in Enterprise SaaS and data-intensive applications.
- 3–5 years of combined experience in automation and manual testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (Preferred) or Selenium for web test automation.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Preferred), Java, or Python.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
- Proven experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for testing productivity.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to articulate ideas, present findings, and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and propose solutions.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with active sprint participation.
Good to Have
- Experience with API automation frameworks (Playwright API, RestAssured).
- Knowledge of Git, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and performance testing tools (JMeter, k6).
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber), cross-browser platforms (BrowserStack), and basic SQL.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
