About the role

This role is focused on building test automation from the ground up and is well-suited for someone who enjoys creating scalable automation frameworks and processes. There is a significant backlog of work ready to be automated, making this a highly technical, automation-driven opportunity. Previous automated tests have been deprecated, so the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a new automation strategy and framework from scratch. The expected workload is approximately 50–70% test automation, with the remaining time dedicated to manual testing activities.

Key responsibilities

Build a new test automation suite from the ground up.

Automate a substantial backlog of test scenarios.

Perform manual testing as needed alongside automation.

Contribute to test design, frameworks, and overall testing process improvements.

Required skills

Strong, technically-oriented QA/automation engineer.

Automation with Playwright.

Ability to design and stand up an automation framework with no existing foundation.

Comfortable testing applications hosted on AWS.

Nice to have

Experience using Claude / AI agents to accelerate manual and automation work (strong plus; embedded-MCP training can be provided).

Exposure to thick-client/desktop-to-web migration testing.
