Job Description

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in 5G Core Network (5GC) testing. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of 4G/5G Core architecture, network protocols, and end-to-end call/data session flows. The role involves validation, troubleshooting, automation, and ensuring product quality across all 5G Core network functions and interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for 5G Core components (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, NRF, UDM, AUSF, NSSF).
  • Validate end-to-end call flows, including registration, PDU session establishment, handovers, and mobility scenarios.
  • Execute interoperability tests between 5G Core and RAN / IMS / OSS systems.
  • Analyze and verify N1 N2 N3 N4 N6 N8 N10 N11 and N13 interfaces using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar.
  • Conduct negative and robustness testing for protocol conformance and system stability.
  • Log, track, and verify defects using standard tools (e. g., JIRA, ALM).
  • Collaborate with the development and integration teams to identify, isolate, and resolve issues.
  • Participate in test planning, test case design, and automation scripting (Python/Robot Framework preferred).
  • Prepare detailed test reports and contribute to QA documentation and process improvement.

Requirements

  • B. E/B. Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications in 4G/5G technologies (optional but preferred).

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of 5G Core architecture (Service-Based Architecture - SBA).
  • Hands-on testing experience with 4G EPC and 5G Core network elements (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, NRF, UDM, AUSF).
  • Expertise in protocols: NAS, SCTP, HTTP2/REST, PFCP, GTP-U, Diameter, SIP, DNS, NTP.
  • Familiarity with RAN interfaces (S1/N2/N3) and IMS/VoNR/VoLTE testing.
  • Experience with network analyzers and simulators (Wireshark, IXIA, Spirent, dsTest, UERANSIM, etc. ).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployments (added advantage).
  • Exposure to automation frameworks - Python, Robot Framework, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to handle complex network scenarios.
