Job Description: Senior QA Automation Engineer (Python & Squish)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly disciplined, self-motivated Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, with a heavy emphasis on Python and Squish GUI Tester. Because our software operates within a regulated industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products adhere to strict compliance, design control, and software verification standards.
The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of application diagnostics, and the ability to work seamlessly both as an independent owner and a collaborative team member.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Framework & Test Case Development: Design, scale, and maintain stable test automation frameworks and cases using Squish and other modern automation tools.
- Application Diagnostics: Leverage application diagnostic logs, system metrics, and debugging tools to capture, isolate, and troubleshoot complex software anomalies and bottlenecks.
- QA Process Ownership: Implement best-in-class software testing methodologies, ensuring thorough test coverage across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Regulatory Compliance & Verification: Execute rigorous software verification protocols while strictly adhering to Design Control practices required for regulated, high-compliance products.
- Technical Mentorship & Collaboration: Lead automation initiatives independently while actively collaborating with cross-functional development teams to drive overall product quality.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Automation Expertise: 5–8 years of experience in QA automation, with a proven track record of building and managing Python-based tooling.
- Deep Tooling Knowledge: Strong hands-on experience using Squish GUI Tester (ideally testing Qt, Web, or embedded environments).
- Diagnostics Proficiency: Strong capability in using and analyzing advanced application diagnostics and system logs to identify deep-seated root causes.
- Regulated Domain Knowledge: Solid exposure to Design Control concepts for regulated software/products (e.g., medical devices, automotive safety, aerospace, or industrial automation) and familiar with software verification guidelines.
- Methodology: Expert understanding of Test Processes, test strategies, and advanced Software Testing methodologies.
