Role Overview
This role goes beyond traditional QA execution and focuses on driving quality excellence across teams. You will lead critical testing initiatives, uplift engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high-quality product releases. The position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and ownership of quality in a modern, fast-paced product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Test Planning
- Collaborate with Technical Leads and Product Managers to define and document test strategies.
- Align test plans with delivery timelines and risk-based priorities.
- Test Design & Execution Oversight
- Lead end-to-end testing across manual and automated processes.
- Ensure strong test coverage and adherence to business and technical requirements.
- Review test artifacts and guide team members.
- Automation & Optimization
- Enhance and extend automation frameworks using Selenium and Appium.
- Identify gaps, propose improvements, and optimize CI/CD-aligned QA workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the QA liaison across engineering, product, and cross-functional teams.
- Lead defect triage, quality reviews, and release readiness discussions.
- Quality Ownership & Leadership
- Own QA deliverables in Agile projects to enable reliable releases.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a high-quality engineering culture.
- Innovation & Continuous Learning
- Stay current with QA trends and drive adoption of modern testing tools and practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of QA experience, with at least 3 years in mobile QA (iOS & Android).
- 2+ years of hands-on automation with Selenium (Java) and custom frameworks.
- Strong expertise with Appium and cloud device platforms (BrowserStack, etc.).
- Proficiency in manual + automated testing practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum with JIRA, Confluence, and defect tools.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and optimization of automated test pipelines.
- Strong Java programming skills for automation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
