Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java, API automation, microservices, messaging systems, and UI automation.

The candidate must have strong Java programming fundamentals and practical experience testing distributed, asynchronous, event-driven systems. Experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ/JMS, Rest Assured, Spring Boot, and Playwright with Java is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java.
Build and maintain automated tests for REST APIs, UI applications, and event-driven systems.
Develop and extend Spring Boot-based test utilities and automation components.
Validate microservices communication, service contracts, dependencies, and end-to-end workflows.
Automate REST API testing using Rest Assured.
Validate API status codes, request/response payloads, schemas, business rules, and data.
Develop automated tests for Kafka producers and consumers.
Test ActiveMQ/JMS and other messaging/MQ systems.
Validate message schemas and perform end-to-end event traceability across distributed services.
Design and execute tests for asynchronous workflows, including event-driven and distributed systems.
Develop UI automation using Playwright with Java.
Maintain existing Selenium WebDriver automation suites using XPath and other locators, where required.
Create readable and maintainable Cucumber/Gherkin scenarios aligned with business requirements.
Integrate automated tests with Maven, TestNG, and CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot failures across multiple services, including failures involving asynchronous/event-driven flows.
Collaborate with developers, architects, product teams, and other QA engineers to identify and resolve defects.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Java / Core Programming

Strong hands-on knowledge of Core Java.
Strong understanding of Java Collections Framework.
Strong practical knowledge of Java Streams.
Good knowledge of Java 8+ features.

Microservices & Spring Boot

Understanding of microservices architecture.
Knowledge of service boundaries, contracts, and inter-service dependencies.
Working knowledge of Spring Boot.
Ability to build or extend Spring Boot-based test utilities.

API Automation

Strong hands-on experience with Rest Assured.
Request/response validation.
Status code and schema validation.
Data and business-rule assertions.

Messaging / Event-Driven Testing — Key Requirement

Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
Understanding of Kafka producers and consumers.
Experience validating asynchronous event flows.
Experience with ActiveMQ / JMS / Message Queue technologies.
Message schema validation.
End-to-end event traceability.
Ability to troubleshoot testing issues in distributed and asynchronous systems.

UI Automation

Playwright with Java – preferred.
Selenium WebDriver experience is acceptable for maintaining existing automation suites.
Good knowledge of XPath and other locator strategies.

BDD / Test Framework

Cucumber / Gherkin.
TestNG.
Maven.
CI/CD pipeline integration.

Good to Have

Docker and experience with containerized test environments.
Kubernetes / container orchestration awareness.
Experience with cloud-based testing environments.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Knowledge of SQL/database validation.

Core Skill Set

Important: Strong Java programming and practical experience with Kafka/messaging and asynchronous distributed-system testing are core requirements for this role.
