Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead our testing efforts across our entire application suite. In this role, you will be responsible for full-cycle testing from exploratory manual testing to architecting and building out our automated testing frameworks from scratch. You will also leverage the latest AI-driven QA tools to accelerate test creation and improve coverage. Key Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Execution: Perform comprehensive all-around testing, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and cross-browser testing for both frontend and backend systems.
• Automation Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks from the ground up for web applications and APIs.
• AI-Assisted Testing: Leverage AI-powered testing tools and coding assistants to accelerate test script generation, create intelligent test data, and reduce test maintenance overhead.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure code quality upon every deployment.
• API & Backend Testing: Thoroughly test RESTful and GraphQL APIs to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
• Manual & Exploratory Testing: Identify edge cases and complex user flows that require manual validation before translating them into automated scripts where applicable.
• Defect Management: Track, document, and triage bugs clearly, working closely with full-stack developers and product managers to resolve issues quickly.
• Quality Advocacy: Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for QA, mentor team members, and foster a culture of quality across the organization.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 4+ years of QA experience, with at least 2-3 years focused heavily on building test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Core Languages: Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript for writing maintainable test scripts.
• Automation Tools: Hands-on expertise with modern UI automation tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• AI Testing Experience: Familiarity with AI-driven testing platforms (e.g., Mabl, Testim, Percy) or using AI coding assistants (like GitHub Copilot) to optimize testing workflows.
• API Testing: Proven experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent automated libraries.
• Performance/Security: Basic understanding of performance testing (e.g., JMeter, k6) and standard web security vulnerabilities.
• DevOps Basics: Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Vercel, etc.).
• Problem Solving: A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to anticipate how users might break a system in the real world.
