About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Automation QA Lead with 5–10 years of experience to lead automation initiatives across UI and API testing. This role requires strong technical ownership, test strategy design, and mentoring of junior QA engineers while ensuring quality across complex, scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement testing processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
- Understand the application/domain end to end, take ownership of group of applications for Quality using existing automation frameworks & solutions.
- Build deeper understanding of product/application & proactively identify areas to improve quality of product through automation.
- Drive the team to improve efficiency of automation & demonstrate continuous improvement.
- Lead end-to-end, integration, regression, smoke, and sanity testing efforts.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers on best practices and automation standards.
- Work with the Software Development manager and product management team to develop the overall strategy and roadmap for test to meet organisational objectives. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality alignment.
- Continually seek ways to improve and enhance the quality assurance process and the process of application development and maintenance
- Proactively validates requirements for completeness, accuracy, and potential quality risks related to data integrity and system security.
About The Job And Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced automated test frameworks for UI (Playwright, Selenium) and API testing (Rest Assured).
- Technically lead 2-3 members QA team with hands-on & deliver results.
- Create documentation, training materials, and guidelines to support the testing practice and promote best practices.
- Create and execute automated tests for RESTful APIs, validating requests, responses, headers, payloads, and data integrity.
- Define and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines and improve test execution efficiency.
- Analyze test results, provide quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify root causes of defects and work proactively on preventive quality measures.
- Testing Across Devices to Cloud
- Develop strategies for testing across a variety of platforms, including mobile devices, web applications, and cloud-based solutions.
- Select appropriate tools and frameworks to support testing in diverse environments and technologies.
- Implement automation frameworks, regression testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline the testing process.
- Identify the test capability required to meet current and future demand in specialised technical disciplines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in QA Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python)
- Selenium WebDriver (Java, Python, or C#)
- Rest Assured for API automation
- Postman for manual API testing
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP protocols.
- Experience with test frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
- Strong exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Good to Have
- Performance testing experience (JMeter, Gatling, k6).
- Experience in test architecture design for large-scale systems.
- Familiarity with security testing concepts and tools like Burpsuite.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Advanced certifications in testing or cloud technologies are a plus.
