Senior Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join our team full-time in India.

About the role:

As a Senior Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow working for the Unified Observability and AI Ecosystem. You will be responsible for developing the Python-based integration layers that bridge raw telemetry with AI-driven Virtual Engineer. This role focuses on sophisticated data transformation, API polling from legacy systems (SCOM/SolarWinds), and building the connective tissue between our OTel Gateway and the AI interpretation layer.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the building, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical Python applications that facilitate telemetry ingestion and transformation
• Contributes design, code, and configurations for OpenTelemetry (OTel) logic, specifically using OTTL for log masking, normalization, and standardization
• Develop Virtual Engineer's APIs to ensure the Virtual Engineer can properly connect to different services and respond to requests with low latency
• Responsible for performance tuning of API pollers and high-frequency data transformation logic
• Identify gaps and improve the platform's quality, robustness, and metadata enrichment strategies
• Contribute to documentation for Blueprints used in pulling and pushing logs across different systems

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience coding in Python with solid CS fundamentals, including data structures and algorithm design
• 2+ years contributing to production deployments of distributed backend systems and API-driven architectures
• Familiar with OpenTelemetry (OTel) collectors, receivers, and processors
• 2+ years of experience in cloud platforms, specifically Azure (Azure Functions, Event Hubs)
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control (Git), and unit testing
• Knowledge of telemetry query languages such as LogQL (Loki) and PromQL (Prometheus)
• Experience in backend development and containerized microservices
• Experience participating in an Agile software development team
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equalivant required

Desirable:

• Familiarity with AI/LLM orchestration frameworks like LangChain
• Experience in CI/CD configuration and automated deployment to OpenShift
