Job Description – Senior Python Developer (Data Science)

We are looking for an experienced candidate with 6+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in advanced Python development and 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science and Machine Learning with focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP).

The ideal candidate is a strong Python engineer first, with significant experience of working with NLP applications building integrations, APIs, backend services, and data-processing applications, complemented by practical Data Science and Natural language processing applications. Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and software engineering skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade Python applications which are primarily based on Natural Language processing and developing backend services.
• Build scalable and maintainable Python components using strong software engineering principles.
• Develop and consume REST APIs for integration with internal and external applications.
• Design API-based integration services connecting databases, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, third-party services, and ML systems.
• Develop robust data integration and data processing pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Work with data from databases, APIs, JSON/XML, CSV, files, and external services.
• Implement data extraction, transformation, validation, cleansing, enrichment, and loading processes.
• Develop APIs and microservices using frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases and optimise data access through Python.
• Write clean, reusable, well-tested, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot performance, integration, data quality, and production issues.

Key Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Python development, including OOP, data structures, exception handling, logging, debugging, asynchronous programming, multithreading / multiprocessing, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience building production-grade backend applications and REST APIs using FastAPI.
• Excellent experience in data integration, including integrating databases, enterprise applications, third-party APIs, cloud services, and external data sources.
• Strong experience developing ETL/ELT and data-processing pipelines using Python, Pandas, NumPy, SQL, and formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, and Parquet.
• Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker for development & training,
• Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, unit/integration testing, monitoring, and deployment of production Python and ML applications.
