Senior Python Developer

Summary
We are hiring strong Python developers for a network automation initiative. You will build tools and frameworks that inspect telecom network nodes, perform operational actions on Kubernetes workloads, and monitor network availability and health from Layer 1 through Layer 7. The work reduces manual effort in network operations and gives teams real-time, automated visibility into the network.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain Python-based automation for network and cloud-native operations.
• Connect to and check the health of network nodes and servers (routers, switches, core and RAN nodes, VMs, bare-metal servers) using SSH, REST, gNMI/NETCONF, SNMP and CLI-based tools.
• Automate Kubernetes operations such as pod lifecycle actions (restart, scale, drain, rollout), log collection, diagnostics and config checks, using the Kubernetes Python client, kubectl and Helm.
• Build monitoring and availability checks across the OSI stack:
  • L1/L2: interface status, link state, optical levels, VLAN and MAC checks
  • L3/L4: IP reachability, routing and BGP/OSPF state, ping/traceroute, port and TCP/UDP checks
  • L5&ndashL7: session health, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP/HTTPS and API endpoint availability, application-level service checks
• Integrate with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Alertmanager) to generate alerts, dashboards and reports.
• Parse and normalize network data (CLI output, JSON, XML, YANG models) using TextFSM, Jinja2, NAPALM, Netmiko or similar.
• Develop CI/CD-ready, testable code with proper logging, error handling and documentation.
• Work with network engineers, SREs and DevOps teams to turn manual runbooks into automated workflows.
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for network and platform incidents.

• Strong Python programming (3.8 ), including asyncio, multithreading, OOP, packaging and unit testing (pytest).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes: pods, deployments, services, namespaces, CNI and troubleshooting. Experience with the Kubernetes Python client is a plus.
• AI tools (e.g., Claude) usage experience a big plus.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model (L1&ndashL7): TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, load balancing, TLS, HTTP.
• Familiarity with telecom network concepts such as 4G/5G core, RAN, transport, and network functions (CNFs/VNFs).
• Experience with network automation libraries and protocols: Netmiko, Paramiko, NAPALM, Scrapli, SNMP, NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI.
• Working knowledge of Linux, shell scripting and Git.
• Experience with REST APIs and integration with monitoring or ticketing systems.

• Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry or similar observability stacks.
• Docker, Helm, Ansible, Terraform and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with OpenShift, Wind River, VMware Telco Cloud or other telco cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of 5G core components (AMF, SMF, UPF), IMS, Diameter, SIP or GTP.
• Packet analysis (Wireshark, tcpdump) and network testing tools (iperf, nmap).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and exposure to AIOps or ML-based anomaly detection.
• Certifications such as CKA/CKAD, CCNA/CCNP, or Python/DevOps certifications.
