Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated
Data Engineer (GCP) to join our Developer Platform Insights team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL-based ETL development, cloud data engineering (preferably GCP), and business intelligence solutions. This role involves building scalable, analytics-ready data products to support cloud cost management, incident tracking, developer productivity insights, and platform usage analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python/Java.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and maintain data models to support BI and reporting requirements.
- Architect and implement data solutions using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Extract and integrate data from cloud providers, infrastructure systems, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Support standardized leadership reporting and self-service analytics.
- Contribute to data architecture decisions and best practices.
- Monitor and optimize cloud cost and performance metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 24 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field.
- Strong experience in SQL-based ETL development.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar scripting language.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as:
- Google Cloud Platform (Preferred)
- AWS
- Azure
- Snowflake
- Experience with BI tools: Looker, Tableau, Power BI, AtScale, or similar.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets.
- 1+ year of experience in Data Architecture.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud cost analytics.
- Experience building analytics-ready data products.
- Exposure to DevOps/DataOps practices.
- Understanding of data governance and data modeling best practices
