About the Role

HVR Solar Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Purchase to lead the raw material procurement for our state-of-the-art Solar PV Module manufacturing plant located in Sonipat. Based out of our Delhi office, you will be the driving force behind our supply chain, ensuring a seamless, cost-effective, and high-quality flow of materials.

Please Note: We are strictly looking for candidates with a proven, verifiable background in procurement specifically within the Solar PV Module Manufacturing industry. Candidates without this specific industry experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement cycle for all raw materials essential for Solar PV Module manufacturing (e.g., Solar Cells, EVA sheets, Backsheets, ARC Glass, Aluminum Frames, Junction Boxes, Tabbing Ribbons, and Sealants).
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to ensure a continuous and uninterrupted supply of materials to the Sonipat manufacturing plant.
  • Monitor global and domestic market trends, raw material pricing dynamics (especially silicon and solar cell price indices), and geopolitical factors affecting the solar supply chain.

Vendor Management & Negotiation:

  • Identify, onboard, and evaluate reliable domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, credit limits, and delivery schedules to optimize costs without compromising on quality.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors to secure priority allocations during market shortages.

Plant Coordination & Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate closely with the Production and Planning teams at the Sonipat plant to align material delivery with the manufacturing schedule, ensuring zero machine downtime due to material shortages.
  • Implement Just-In-Time (JIT) and effective inventory management practices to optimize inventory holding costs and minimize wastage.
  • Oversee the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) process.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Work in tandem with the Quality Assurance (QA/QC) team at the Sonipat plant to ensure all incoming raw materials meet strict internal and international standards (IEC/MNRE/ALMM guidelines).
  • Address and resolve any material non-conformance issues with suppliers promptly, arranging for replacements or credit notes as required.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, local taxation (GST), and international trade compliance (Customs/Duties).

Team Leadership & Reporting:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team under your purview.
  • Prepare and present regular MIS reports to senior management regarding procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, vendor performance, and supply chain risks.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Industry Experience (Mandatory): Minimum of 8–10 years of core procurement experience, with strict mandatory experience in Solar PV Module Manufacturing.
  • Educational Background: B.Tech / B.E. (Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics) is preferred. A Master's degree or MBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Material Management is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep, technical understanding of the Solar PV Module Bill of Materials (BOM), cell efficiencies, and degradation factors.
  • Import/Export Expertise: Hands-on experience with international logistics, import documentation, letters of credit (LC), and customs clearance procedures.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently between the Delhi office and the Sonipat manufacturing plant, as well as occasional travel for vendor audits.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package aligned with industry standards.
  • The opportunity to play a pivotal role in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.
  • A dynamic, collaborative, and growth-oriented work environment at a leading solar manufacturing company.
