Senior Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to own delivery across multiple concurrent client engagements. You will be the operating backbone of our delivery org — keeping projects on track, clients confident, engineers focused, and outcomes measurable.

This is not a status-reporting role. You will run client relationships, drive delivery rigor, surface risks early, and partner with engineering leadership on scope, staffing, and commercial conversations. You will work directly with senior stakeholders on the client side — Directors, VPs, and CXOs — and represent SquareShift in the room.

You should be equally comfortable building a project plan from scratch on day one of a new engagement and rolling up your sleeves to unblock a team mid-sprint. We are a boutique — you will have ownership, autonomy, and impact from week one.

• Own end-to-end delivery for 3–5 concurrent client engagements across data, cloud, and AI projects

• Run client governance — weekly status, steering committees, escalations, change requests, and stakeholder communication

• Build and maintain project plans, RAID logs, resource forecasts, and delivery dashboards that engineering and leadership can actually use

• Partner with engineering leads on scoping, estimation, and SOW reviews; flag scope creep early and manage change orders cleanly

• Drive Agile and hybrid delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, milestone-based) — pick the right tool for the engagement, not dogma

• Track financial health of engagements — burn, margin, utilization — and partner with leadership on commercial decisions

• Lead pre-sales support on selected opportunities — discovery questionnaires, effort estimation, proposal walk-throughs

• Coach and mentor delivery leads and tech leads on PM rigor; raise the bar on documentation, communication, and predictability

• Build and improve internal PMO processes — templates, playbooks, governance models — that scale with the firm

  
  

Must-have

• 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 4 years in client-facing delivery at a consulting firm, GSI, or product company with services arm

• Proven track record managing multiple parallel engagements with senior client stakeholders (Director and above)

• Strong command of delivery methodologies — Agile/Scrum, Kanban, and milestone/waterfall — and judgment to know when to use which

• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to write a crisp status update, run a steering committee, and de-escalate a tense client call

• Process-driven mindset balanced with startup pragmatism — you build structure where it is missing, but you do not let process become the work

• Result-oriented and outcome-led — you measure success by what shipped and what the client got, not by tickets closed

• Comfort working with engineering teams on data, cloud, or AI projects (you do not need to code, but you need to follow the conversation)

• Experience with project tooling — Jira, Confluence, Asana, Notion, or equivalent — and reporting tools (Looker, Sheets, Excel)

  
  

Nice-to-have

• PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or SAFe certification

• Prior exposure to Google Cloud, BigQuery, Looker, Snowflake, Databricks, or Elasticsearch ecosystem

• Experience managing fixed-price and T&M engagements, including commercial governance

• Pre-sales or solution-shaping experience

• Background in BI/data analytics, AI/ML, or observability projects
