Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Aerospace Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mechanical Systems to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of safety-critical systems such as Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Fuel ECS, Flight controls etc.,.. The candidate will provide technical leadership, engineering guidance, design support, and domain expertise across aerospace programs. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of aircraft system architectures, design principles, integration, certification requirements, and lifecycle support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead and SME for aerospace Mechanical Systems
- Analyze, design, develop, integrate, and validate aircraft Mechanical systems.
- Review system requirements, specifications, and interface documents.
- Perform system architecture studies, trade-off analyses, and root cause investigations.
- Support system sizing, component selection, and performance calculations.
- Develop and review engineering documentation, including:
- System Requirement Specifications (SRS)
- Interface Control Documents (ICD)
- Test Procedures and Reports
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Reliability and Safety Assessments
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with aerospace regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structures, avionics, flight controls, manufacturing, and certification teams.
- Support qualification, verification, validation, and certification activities.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with expertise in Mechanical Systems
- 10–15 years of experience in Aerospace Mechanical Systems, with strong expertise.
- Experience working on commercial, military, business jet, helicopter, or UAV platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
- Hydraulic Power Generation & Distribution Systems
- Pneumatic Systems
- Flight Control Actuation Systems
- Landing Gear Hydraulic Systems
- Braking Systems
- Environmental Control System (ECS) interfaces
- Fuel and Utility System interactions
- Knowledge of aircraft system integration and certification processes.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and guidelines such as: FAA/EASA certification requirements, ARP4754A, ARP476, AS9100 etc.
- Experience performing system-level analyses, troubleshooting, and failure investigations.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Technical Skills
- CAD tools (CATIA, NX, Creo)
- PLM tools (Enovia/Teamcenter/Windchill)
- MATLAB/Simulink preferred
