Job Description – Project Engineer – Secondary Engineering (AIS/GIS Substations)

Location: Chennai, India

Department: Engineering (GETS)

Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Team Lead

Experience: 15 Years+

Role Purpose:

The Project Engineer – Secondary Engineering will be responsible for delivering high-quality Protection & Control (P&C) engineering solutions for international Transmission & Distribution (T&D) substation projects. The role involves engineering design, technical coordination, tender support, vendor engineering, customer interaction, and project execution while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, international standards, quality, safety, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Secondary Engineering & Design

• Lead Secondary Engineering activities for High Voltage AIS & GIS Substation projects.
• Prepare Protection & Control (P&C) engineering deliverables for HV/MV substations.
• Develop:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• Three-Line Diagrams
• Control Schematics
• Interconnection Diagrams
• Wiring Diagrams
• Relay Panel Front Views
• Cable Schedules
• Prepare engineering calculations and auxiliary AC/DC system documentation.
• Prepare technical specifications and purchasing documents for secondary equipment.
• Ensure completeness and functionality of engineering deliverables.
• Resolve engineering issues during project execution.
