Salary:
30,600/- per month (Consolidated, as per ICMR norms)
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Optometry with a minimum of three years of clinical experience,
- OR
- Master's degree in Optometry (M.Optom)
- Hands-on experience in operating ophthalmic diagnostic instruments including:
- Fundus Camera
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Visual Field Analyzer (VFA)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in clinical data collection and patient recruitment
- Familiarity with glaucoma-related parameters such as IOP, RNFL thickness, cupdisc ratio, VFI, MD, PSD, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and basic data processing tools
- Working knowledge of image formats (DICOM, JPEG, TIFF) and data management software used in clinical research
- Strong understanding of ophthalmic imaging principles and clinical data workflows
- Ability to collaborate effectively with AI researchers, data scientists, and clinicians to ensure data readiness for model development
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English and Hindi (mandatory)
- Proficiency in Tamil is highly desirable to facilitate patient communication across collaborating centers
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Imaging
- Conduct patient data collection for open-angle glaucoma (OAG), suspects, and matched controls as per the study protocol.
- Acquire high-quality Fundus, OCT, and Visual Field images, ensuring consistency in imaging parameters and quality across study sites.
- Perform basic image quality checks and liaise with data scientists to resolve imaging or metadata inconsistencies.
- Ensure accurate entry of numerical and categorical clinical data (demographic, ocular, and systemic parameters).
- Implement standardized protocols for image and data anonymization prior to transfer for AI model development.
2. Data Management and Coordination
- Track patient follow-up visits for longitudinal data collection and ensure timely and complete datasets across all sites.
- Coordinate with technical teams to prepare datasets for machine learning and deep learning analysis.
- Assist in maintaining organized digital records and ensure data integrity and version control.
3. Regulatory and Documentation Support
- Maintain confidential study records, including consent forms and data logs, for audit and review purposes.
- Assist in preparing progress reports, presentations, and documentation for ICMR and institutional monitoring committees.
- Schedule meetings, record minutes, distribute updates
