Job Description

Description

Are you energized by solving complex problems at the intersection of strategy and execution Amazon's Sub-Same Day (SSD) program is rapidly scaling to meet growing customer expectations for ultra-fast delivery. As the team invests in expanding selection and reach, this is a pivotal moment to shape how millions of customers experience speed.

As a Program Manager III, you will define and drive the strategy for scaling SSD selection, own critical business metrics, and lead cross-functional initiatives that span Category, Sellers, Operations, Supply Chain, and Delivery Experience teams. You will navigate ambiguity, make data-informed decisions, and influence senior stakeholders to align on a shared vision - all while ensuring the program delivers measurable customer impact.

Key job responsibilities
- Define program strategy, set objectives, and drive improvements quantified with metrics across the SSD selection expansion initiative
- Lead cross-functional alignment with Category, Sellers, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to prioritize and execute strategic projects that grow the program
- Analyze data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks proactively, and make trade-offs between speed, effort, and deliverables
- Author strategy documents and communicate progress and outcomes clearly to directors and senior leadership
- Establish mechanisms for tracking key business metrics such as speed perception and program scale, ensuring the program stays aligned with organizational objectives

A day in the life
You will split your time between strategic planning and hands-on program execution. Mornings might involve reviewing metrics dashboards and preparing narratives for leadership reviews, while afternoons are spent in working sessions with partner teams to unblock dependencies or refine selection expansion plans. You will regularly facilitate alignment discussions across functions, synthesize competing priorities into clear recommendations, and course-correct when data signals a shift is needed.

About the team
The SSD team's mission is to make Amazon the preferred shopping destination when customers need a product right now or at a specific time. We curate products where delivery in hours makes a material difference to the purchase decision and ensure customers can easily discover this selection. We're actively scaling selection and coverage, and you will play a central role in shaping that trajectory from both a strategic and operational perspective.
