Job description
We are looking for production engineers in the oil and gas industry to support ExxonMobil s global portfolio of Deepwater, Conventional, Unconventional & Heavy Oil assets.
What you will do
- Lead/collaborate with engineers and operators on global teams to analyze well/field performance and advise on production optimization
- Lead/collaborate with cross disciplinary team of reservoir, facilities, wells, and operations engineers to identify and execute opportunities for production debottlenecking, operations schedule optimization
- Champion effective production optimization by proactively engaging with stakeholders to address challenges, deliver solutions and process improvements
- Lead/support periodic assessments of field production system health to identify optimization opportunities
- Lead/support operator teams for operations schedule optimization, reinstate offline volumes, capacity enhancement, production planning, and downtime optimization
- Develop, deploy, sustain and apply technologies for oilfield production optimization using data-driven or physics-based methods
- Conduct screening economic evaluations of well intervention and stimulation operations
- Manage production data, measurement and allocation quality assurance
- Influence prioritization and support enhancement of proprietary production engineering technology
- Develop technical capabilities of team members through training and mentoring
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor s or Master s degree from a recognized university in petroleum /chemical/ mechanical/other relevant engineering disciplines with minimum GPA 7.0
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Production Engineer field
- Experience in leading teams and working in cross-disciplinary projects
- Experience in production surveillance, troubleshooting and optimization of well and field performance
Strong Knowledge of basic concepts including:
- Inflow/outflow/flowline modeling
- Production well testing and allocation principles
- Network modeling and facilities operations
- Well design, completion, and stimulation technologies
- Artificial lift methods and systems
- Reservoir surveillance
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to evaluate critical operating parameters through data and trend analysis
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, Matlab, C#)
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g. Power BI, SeeQ, XHQ)
- Experience in Production database management (e.g. Energy Components, PI, SQL)
- Experience with Agile development practices
- Experience with Azure Cloud and Databricks
- Experience with digital oil field tools and workflows
- Experience in any of the roles; Reservoir surveillance, Well intervention and Operation support
