If you are NOT deeply energized by both building product and talking to customers, this role will not be a good fit.

The Role

Most product managers sit between engineering and design. This role sits between engineering, design, and the client.

You will own the product end-to-end - from the first discovery call with an enterprise client to the moment something ships and works in production. You will translate messy, ambiguous business problems into precise, buildable systems. You will speak fluently with engineers about architecture and fluently with clients about outcomes.

The best candidate for this role has shipped real software, has sat across the table from demanding clients, and understands that great product work is invisible -- the client just feels like everything works.

What You'll Do

1. Own the full product lifecycle -- discovery, scoping, prioritization, delivery, and iteration
2. Lead client discovery calls and translate business requirements into clear technical scopes
3. Work directly with engineers daily to ensure what's being built matches what was promised
4. Write specs that are precise enough for engineers to build from without back-and-forth
5. Identify gaps between what clients ask for and what they actually need — and solve for the latter
6. Manage client relationships through delivery, handling escalations and expectation-setting
7. Shape the product roadmap across Trao's internal tools and client-facing systems
8. Contribute to how we pitch, scope, and price new engagements

You Must Be Strong Here

1. Deep technical fluency -- you don't need to code, but you must understand how systems are built
2. Exceptional client communication -- enterprise clients, senior stakeholders, and demanding timelines
3. Precise written communication -- your specs, briefs, and proposals should need minimal revision
4. AI-native product thinking -- you understand agents, workflows, and what AI can and cannot do
5. Figma -- enough to review designs critically and communicate product intent clearly

What We're Looking For

1. You have shipped real software products, not just managed roadmaps
2. You have worked directly with technical teams and understand engineering constraints intuitively
3. You have managed external clients or enterprise stakeholders under real pressure
4. You think in systems -- edge cases, failure modes, dependencies, and second-order effects
5. You are a strong written and verbal communicator with extremely high attention to detail
6. You are comfortable with ambiguity and move fast without needing to be told what to do

Bonus:

• Background in software engineering or a technical discipline
• You are extremely technical
• Experience talking to enterprise clients
• Exposure to AI agent workflows, LLMs, or enterprise automation
