Job Description

About Pocket FM

At our core, we are an AI-powered entertainment company with a human-first philosophy: technology should amplify creativity, not replace it. Our proprietary AI systems work alongside writers, voice artists, and creative teams to help stories scale globally faster, smarter, and with cultural and emotional integrity intact.

We move with a startup mindset, curious, fast, and deeply owner-driven even as we operate at massive scale.

About the role

As a Senior Product Manager on the Discovery & Experience team, you will own specific features and experiments across Recommendations, Search, Personalization, or UX. You will drive end-to-end execution from problem definition and spec writing to launch and post-launch analysis.

This is a high-craft, high-autonomy role.

What you'll own

Recommendations & Personalization

  • Own specific surfaces in the personalization product home feed ranking, end-of-episode suggestions, or notification targeting
  • Partner with data scientists to understand model behavior, identify product gaps, and propose feature improvements
  • Instrument behavioral tracking to measure content discovery quality, diversity, and user satisfaction
  • Run structured experiments to test personalization hypotheses and translate results into product decisions

Search

  • Own the search experience for a defined scope — query suggestions, zero-result flows, or results ranking
  • Analyze search logs to identify failure patterns: reformulations, high-abandonment queries, catalog gaps
  • Work with engineering to improve relevance through better indexing, query expansion, or ranking signals
  • Define and track search quality metrics; build a continuous improvement loop

User Experience & Retention

  • Identify specific friction points in the user journey through analytics, user research, and session replay
  • Propose, spec, and ship UX improvements that reduce drop-off and increase engagement at key funnel stages
  • Design and run A/B experiments; write clear hypotheses, define metrics upfront, and document learnings

Who we're looking for

  • 4-6 years in product management, Deep experience in consumer B2C products at scale, audio, video, gaming, social, or content platforms strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of owning and shipping ML-driven personalization or recommendation. Comfortable with ML concepts: collaborative filtering, ranking models, embeddings, bandits, LLM applications in product
  • Familiarity with A/B experimentation at scale, you design experiments, read results critically, and build on them
  • Can go deep with data scientists on feature engineering and model evaluation, not just a consumer of output
  • Experience with experimentation infrastructure: holdouts, CUPED, long-run tracking, novelty effects
  • Strong first-principles thinker, you question defaults, pressure-test assumptions, and build from user truth
  • High user empathy; you listen deeply, synthesize across qualitative and quantitative signals, and stay close to real behavior
  • A taste for simplicity in UX: you know that the best product decisions often feel obvious in hindsight
