This role is part of
Cognizant IOA (Intelligent Operations and Automation) and, more specifically, a product team with its own origin story.
We began as
Matterway, a German startup building automation software from scratch. After being acquired by Cognizant, we retained our team, culture, pace, and way of working. We move like a startup, think like a startup, and now do so with the backing of a global company.
We combine human expertise with intelligent automation, ML operations, and digital experience solutions to help technology and digitalnative companies build smarter, more adaptive operating models.
What's the Opportunity
We're looking for
Senior Product Engineers to join our growing team. Today, we are a closeknit group of four engineers from different parts of the world. We are now doubling in size, and the people we hire will help shape the future of the team.
We are building a platform to support the
agentification of operations. You'll work across a suite of products, including:
- A cloud platform for process optimization
- AI coding agents
- Specialized AI agents
This is genuinely frontier work. We don't follow AI trendswe implement them. When new models are released, we prototype with them within days.
This is an ideal time to join as founding R&D talent in this space and help set the technical standard for everything that follows.
What Will You Be Doing
Your DaytoDay Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the core architecture of our platform
- Set technical standards and own complex projects endtoend
- Work on a wellarchitected, fastevolving TypeScript codebase using technologies such as Webpack, React, Node.js, Electron, and GraphQL
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to solve complex technical and business problems, with real autonomy
- Participate across the full development lifecycle: scoping, design, estimation, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance, and support
- Evaluate and implement proofs of concept using the latest AI tools and models

What Makes You a Great Fit
MustHaves
- Excellent English (C1+) with strong written and verbal communication
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript across frontend and backend, including building and maintaining Node.js services
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables
- Strong technical fundamentals, intellectual curiosity, and a continuousimprovement mindset
- Deep interest in AInot just as a user, but as someone who follows research, tracks releases, and forms opinions
NicetoHaves
- Frontend development experience using modern frameworks such as React or Vue.js
- Experience with Puppeteer or Playwright
- Familiarity with AIcoding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode)
