Job Description

Role Title: Senior Product Designer (6-10 years experience)

Area of Product expertise: Furniture, Lighting, Accessorisation (Commercial Segment)

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

About Officebanao:

Officebanao is a rapidly growing firm focused on Innovative Commercial Interior Design and Build

solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Senior Product Designer to join our team and

direct in dynamic commercial design projects, that require as part of the process, the design,

experimentation, prototyping, branding, packaging, cataloguing, testing and execution of products.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead, Engage and Guide in the design and development cycle for existing and new commercial

products (furniture, lighting, partitions, accessories).

-Generate detailed 3D models and technical drawings for the design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing,

and execution processes of all furniture/fixtures/accessorisation under our private label.

- Provide directives to Product Team and train them for close attention to detail and implementation

processes.

- Direct the team on product iterations based on material constraints, cost, user expectations, customer

feedback and market needs.

- Advise with the development of product collateral, and be willing to extend his experience on the

packaging and cataloguing of products.

-Research new materials, manufacturing processes, and market competitors to inform design decisions.

- Direct the team in the conceptualization, working, strategising and execution processes of products at

all relevant design & execution stages.

- Be the doer and facilitate the need of the hour when/if the team falls short on certain project

expectations.

- Ability to work in pro-active environments and respect deadlines for short-term and long term project

objective(s) fulfillment.

Required Skillset & Qualifications:

Design & Conceptualization: Proven creative design thinking abilities for product iterations and strong

conceptualization and implementation skills for form, function and practicality of design realisation.

Software Proficiency (Advanced)

Essential: Autocad, Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop & Indesign; 3ds Max (for

rendering and visualization)

Technical Knowledge:

- Strong ability in technical detailing for product testing, experiementation and execution processes.

- Business Acumen and Strategic Thinking is a must for all technical decision making

- Extensive Factory knowledge/hands-on experience (manufacturing processes like sheet metal,

woodworking, molding).

- High efficiency in the 3 dimensional realm of product design- testing and execution.

- Proven ability for Product Improvisation for Future Progressions (Design Sales of Officebanao's

Exquisite Product Line)

Market & Trends: Good grasp of market knowledge in context to Commercial product design (furniture,

partitions, lighting, accessorisation, in particular) and awareness of emerging trends and new materials.

Portfolio & Documentation: Experience with developing product documentation, including packaging

and cataloguing experience.

Soft Skills:

-Exceptional observation skills towards user interaction, anthropometry and ergonomics.

-A proactive attitude and willingness to learn manufacturing limitations, expand on opportunities for

efficient design delivery and final outcomes.

- A team player and strong lead for all major product-creative and technical decisions with a business

mindset to compete with major players in the industry.
