The Team:

Dr. Karttikeya Mangalam foundedSigIQ.aiin July 2023 and is committed full-time serving as the CEO and AI team lead. Karttikeya is a PhD graduate from the Berkeley AI Research lab advised by Prof. Jitendra Malik (top 10 AI researchers in the world) and over his last 7 years of research at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Meta AI, Google AI and IIT Kanpur, published 40+ research papers that have been cited 7000+ times. Karttikeya is joined by Prof. Kurt Keutzer as co-founder, and a team of twenty full-time employees across AI, Engineering, Product & Growth.

About the Role:

We're looking for aSenior Product Designerto lead the design of core learner, educator, and admin experiences across our AI tutoring platform.

This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, AI interaction design, and learning science. You will shape how students experience tutoring, how teachers trust the system, and how districts understand learning impact.

This is not a surface-level UI role. You will own complex workflows where pedagogy, AI behavior, and usability meet, and help define what great AI-native learning experiences look like.

What You'll Do:

• Own end-to-end product design across key areas of the EverTutor platform, from discovery through launch of our teacher and student facing products
• Design intuitive, high-signal interfaces for AI-driven tutoring, feedback, assessment, and analytics flows
• Translate ambiguous product and instructional goals into clear interaction models and scalable design systems
• Partner closely with product, AI, and engineering teams to prototype, iterate, and ship quickly
• Conduct user research and user acceptance testing with students, teachers, and administrators to validate design decisions
• Define and evolveSigIQ.ai's design language, accessibility standards, and interaction patterns
• Balance speed, craft, and clarity in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

What You'll Bring:

• 5+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in SaaS, AI-driven, or EdTech environments
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex, end-to-end product experiences
• Ability to reason from user needs and system constraints to thoughtful interaction design
• Experience designing workflows and systems, not just isolated screens
• Comfort working with ambiguity and shaping early-stage products from first principles
• Strong collaboration skills with PMs, engineers, and cross-functional partners

Nice to Have:

• Experience designing learning, assessment, or productivity tools
• Familiarity with AI or LLM-powered interfaces and human-in-the-loop systems
• Experience building or scaling a design system
• Background in 01 or early-stage startup environments
