Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of high-impact commerce experiences across web and mobile platforms. You will own end-to-end design for critical user journeys, including discovery, search, product detail pages, cart, checkout, and post-purchase flows.

This role requires balancing user needs with business outcomes such as conversion, retention, and monetization. You will work closely with product, engineering, data, and business teams to build scalable, intuitive, and high-performing experiences.

As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to product strategy, mentor designers, and elevate overall design quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end design for core commerce experiences, including product discovery, browsing, search, cart, checkout, and post-purchase flows
  • Drive product strategy through user understanding, competitive analysis, and business insights to improve conversion, average order value, retention, and lifetime value
  • Design across the full customer journey, including web, mobile web, native apps, and channels such as email and messaging
  • Balance user needs with business requirements, technical constraints, and operational feasibility
  • Own design quality from concept to launch, ensuring consistency and high-quality implementation

User Experience & Problem Solving

  • Identify user pain points and improve usability, discoverability, and conversion across funnels
  • Design for complex scenarios such as bulk ordering, pricing tiers, inventory constraints, promotions, and fulfillment flows
  • Apply structured thinking to solve ambiguous problems and create scalable solutions
  • Design AI-powered commerce experiences including personalized recommendations, intelligent search, conversational shopping assistants, and virtual try-on features partnering with ML teams to translate algorithmic capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy user interfaces

Research, Data & Experimentation

  • Conduct user research through interviews, usability testing, surveys, and observation
  • Analyze quantitative data such as analytics, funnel metrics, and experiments to inform decisions
  • Translate research into actionable insights, user journeys, and design principles
  • Define measurement frameworks to track metrics such as conversion rate, cart abandonment, retention, and user satisfaction
  • Use A/B testing to validate design decisions and iterate based on performance and feedback
  • Collaborate with data teams to measure and optimize outcomes

Design Systems & Craft

  • Contribute to and evolve the design system with reusable components and patterns
  • Ensure consistency across platforms and products
  • Maintain high standards in visual design, interaction design, accessibility, and responsiveness
  • Create prototypes to communicate ideas and validate concepts

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product managers to define problems, prioritize features, and align on goals
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Work with business teams such as marketing, merchandising, and operations to deliver cohesive experiences
  • Present design work clearly, explaining rationale and expected business impact

Mentorship & Leadership

  • Mentor junior designers and provide structured feedback
  • Lead design reviews and elevate overall team quality
  • Advocate for user-centered design across the organization

Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years of product design experience
  • Strong background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or B2B platforms
  • Experience designing complex workflows and systems at scale
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable impact on business metrics

Design Skills

  • Strong expertise in user experience, interaction design, and visual design
  • Deep understanding of information architecture and commerce patterns
  • Ability to design responsive and accessible experiences across platforms
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma or similar
  • Understanding of designing for ML-driven features (personalization, recommendations, predictions), AI design principles (transparency, explainability, user control), and leveraging generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney) to accelerate design workflows

Research & Analytics

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing
  • Comfort working with analytics tools and interpreting product metrics
  • Experience with experimentation and iterative design

Commerce Expertise

  • Understanding of product discovery, search, filtering, cart behavior, checkout flows, and order management
  • Familiarity with metrics such as conversion rate, cart abandonment, average order value, retention, and purchase frequency
  • Awareness of personalization, recommendations, promotions, and loyalty systems
