Senior Product Designer

CACTUS is a remote-first organization and we embrace an accelerate from anywhere culture. You may choose to work from home in Mumbai however, you will be required to travel to our Andheri East office at least 2-3 times a week for business requirements, meetings, or company/team events, or on short notice as needed.

Cactus Communications is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape the user experience of Editage, our flagship brand and a global leader in scholarly communication.

Editage is a global leader in academic and research support solutions. For over 20 years, Editage has helped researchers in 190+ countries overcome language and publishing barriers by offering expert editing, translation, and publication support services, complemented by innovative AI tools. In this role, you will design intuitive and scalable product experiences for researchers, scientists, and academic professionals. Your work will directly impact how users interact with our expert-led and AI-driven platforms across the research lifecycle.

• Own the end-to-end product design process, from user research and discovery to high-fidelity designs and post-launch improvements.
• Design clear and intuitive workflows for complex academic and research processes.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to align user needs with business goals.
• Use user research, usability testing, and data insights to validate and improve design decisions.
• Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system across products and regions.
• Present design concepts and rationale clearly to cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years of experience in product design, preferably in SaaS, B2C, or platform-based products.

• Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work and shipped products.

• Hands-on expertise with Figma, including prototyping and design systems.

• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating insights into design solutions.

• Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals, accessibility, and interaction design.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Exposure to designing for global or diverse user bases is a strong plus.

Our selection process typically involves an initial screening by a recruiter, a technical assessment, and two to three interview rounds. For this role, there will be two Technical rounds and one HR interview. All interviews will be done virtually on MS Teams.
