About the Role
The incumbent will lead process engineering activities across oil & gas production assets, ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized operations. He/she will be responsible for simulation modeling, process design, engineering reviews, and supporting operational excellence through technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Process Design & Simulation
- Lead development, validation, and optimization of process simulations for new and existing facilities.
- Perform mass and energy balance calculations to support design, debottlenecking, and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and update PFDs, P&IDs, and process narratives for operational and project needs.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Review engineering documents including datasheets, specifications, and vendor packages.
- Support equipment selection, sizing, and performance evaluation.
- Provide technical input during design reviews, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Operations & Field Support
- Conduct process audits and field verifications of operating parameters.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and operational troubleshooting of process units.
- Review and validate process control strategies and operating envelopes.
Safety, Environment & Compliance
- Ensure process designs comply with HSE standards and risk mitigation protocols.
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other safety studies.
- Support environmental compliance through optimized process design, monitoring emissions, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Interface with cross-functional teams, consultants, vendors, and regulators for technical reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to training programs, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Participate in technical workshops, safety reviews, and design discussions.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience in process design for production facilities (separation, gas processing, dehydration, compression, water treatment, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, etc.).
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (API, ISO, IEC, etc.).
- Experience working on international projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skill
