Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with client specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Provide technical leadership in pavement design adhering to international standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and public agencies to understand project requirements and resolve issues.
- Innovate and apply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex design and implementation challenges.
- Guide and supervise team members in technical and project management tasks, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
- Participate in client discussions and support the project lead in monitoring daily progress.
- Engage in internal communication, monitor budgets, assist in recruitment, contribute to business development, and prepare fee proposals.
- Maintain and enhance a positive team culture and work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Over 10 years of post-graduate experience in pavement design.
- Membership of a recognized institution and actively pursuing chartership.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Pavement condition assessment.
- Structural and visual pavement evaluation.
- Empirical pavement design using DMRB, AASHTO, Austroads standards.
- Analytical or mechanistic/empirical pavement design.
- Pavement rehabilitation design (inlay/overlay).
- Specification and interpretation of pavement and material surveys.
- Material selection and pavement design specification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative working skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with accountability for assigned tasks.
- Experience with 3D design software.
- Familiarity with BIM and common data environment tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Pavement survey and design specification.
- Configuration of pavement management systems (PMS).
- Pavement deterioration modelling.
- Lifecycle assessment and lifecycle planning.
- Whole Life Costing and Carbon assessment.
- Pavement failure diagnosis and repair design.
Job Profile:
