Job Summary
The Senior PPC Engineer is responsible for end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and control of manufacturing activities for oil & gas components. This role ensures optimal utilization of resources, on-time delivery, inventory optimization, and compliance with quality and industry standards such as API, ASME, and ISO.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed production plans and schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity.
- Coordinate with sales, design, procurement, and production teams to ensure feasibility of delivery commitments.
- Plan machining, fabrication, heat treatment, coating, and assembly operations for oil & gas components.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production performance against plan.
Production Control & Monitoring
- Track work-in-progress (WIP), identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Analyze production variances and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage change requests and rescheduling due to design changes, material delays, or priority shifts.
Inventory & Material Management
- Optimize raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of critical materials (forged bars, castings, alloys, etc.).
- Monitor material consumption and minimize shortages and excess stock.
ERP & Data Management
- Lead PPC activities using ERP systems (SAP).
- Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, lead times, and master data.
- Generate MIS reports related to production efficiency, OTD, capacity utilization, and inventory.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure production plans comply with oil & gas industry standards (API, ASME, NACE, ISO).
- Support internal and external audits related to production planning and control.
Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure traceability and documentation requirements are met.Leadership & Coordination
- Guide and mentor junior PPC engineers and planners.
- Act as a key interface between manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and project teams.
- Participate in S&OP meetings and strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering
- 610 years of experience in PPC within oil & gas or heavy engineering manufacturing
- Experience with API-certified manufacturing facilities preferred
