Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our analytics and business intelligence team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Power BI development, advanced SQL expertise, and hands-on experience implementing row-level security. This role requires an individual who can troubleshoot complex PBIX files and deliver reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support business decision-making.
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across multiple data sources.
Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) within Power BI to ensure proper data access controls and compliance with organizational policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PBIX files, including data connectivity, DAX calculations, and visualizations.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
Document data models, transformations, and security configurations for audit and knowledge sharing purposes.
Stay current with Power BI updates, best practices, and industry trends to improve reporting capabilities continually.
Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support business decision-making.
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across multiple data sources.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years of experience in Power BI development in a corporate environment.
Expert proficiency in SQL, with a proven track record of writing and optimizing complex queries for large datasets.
Extensive experience implementing and managing row-level security in Power BI.
Strong troubleshooting skills with PBIX files, including resolving data model, DAX, and visualization issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience integrating Power BI with multiple data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Excel, APIs).
Experience in designing and optimizing mobile-friendly Power BI reports to ensure seamless data accessibility and interactivity on various devices.
Experience with ServiceNow and JIRA.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., DA-100/PL-300) is a plus.
Experience with Power Query, M language, and advanced DAX functions.
Background in data governance, security, or compliance frameworks.
Experience working in SAFe Agile framework.
