Senior Manager Portfolio Investments (Family Office)
Role Overview
The Senior Manager Portfolio Investments will lead end-to-end investment management for a diversified family office portfolio across public and private markets, aligned with the family's long-term wealth, legacy, and liquidity objectives. The role combines portfolio strategy, deal evaluation, and ongoing monitoring with a strong emphasis on governance, risk management, and discretion.
Key responsibilities
- Lead asset allocation and portfolio construction across equities, fixed income, AIFs, PMS, PE/VC, real estate, and other alternative assets, in line with the family's riskreturn profile and investment policy.
- Develop, recommend, and implement investment strategies (public and private markets) and periodic rebalancing plans to optimize returns while preserving capital.
- Source, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities including funds, co-investments, direct deals, and secondary transactions, leveraging internal and external networks.
- Lead detailed due diligence: financial modeling, valuation, scenario analysis, competitive benchmarking, and risk assessment for proposed investments.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track benchmarks, and generate regular MIS, dashboards, and thematic reviews for promoters/family.
- Continuously review existing investments for performance, exit options, and reallocation opportunities; drive timely exit decisions where relevant.
- Build and manage relationships with private banks, wealth managers, fund managers, investment bankers, and other ecosystem partners for proprietary deal flow.
- Participate in and sometimes lead investment committee discussions, prepare investment notes, and present clear, data-backed recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal governance standards, and investment policy documentation; coordinate with legal, tax, and compliance advisors as needed.
- Stay on top of macro trends, sector themes, and regulatory developments; translate insights into actionable portfolio views and strategy updates.
- Support broader family-office initiatives such as estate planning, succession planning, and philanthropy-related investment structures, where required.
Candidate profile
- 712 years of relevant experience in investment management, family office, UHNI/HNI wealth management, PE/VC, or buy-side research/portfolio management roles.
- Strong exposure to multi-asset portfolios and comfort managing ticket sizes in the 100+ crore range and above.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, alternative investments, and deal structuring in the Indian context; global exposure is an added advantage.
- Proven track record of originating, evaluating, closing, and monitoring investments with clear outcome orientation.
- High proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment memo preparation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely and discretely with promoter family members.
- Strong ethical compass, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
Educational qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA/PGDM in Finance, CFA, CA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or FRM will be an advantage.
