Primary Purpose
The Senior PLM Process Adoption Lead is responsible for driving the successful adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement of PLM processes across global engineering and manufacturing organizations. This role owns business-facing PLM process definition and adoption, ensuring that Windchill PLM capabilities are effectively aligned to engineering, product development, and manufacturing needs.
This position requires deep expertise in PLM-enabled product development processes, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to bridge business requirements with technical implementation across PLM, CAD, ERP, and related enterprise systems
Major Responsibilities
- Serve as the business lead and primary point of contact for PLM process adoption initiatives
- Analyze, prioritize, and document business requirements, pain points, and process gaps across engineering and manufacturing
- Define, design, and standardize PLM-enabled processes aligned to enterprise strategy and roadmap
- Partner with PLM architects, IT, and system integrators to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Lead and support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of PLM process deployments
- Design, train, and deploy new or enhanced PLM processes into production environments
- Drive change management, training, and communication activities to ensure successful user adoption
- Mentor and guide engineering systems team members and business stakeholders on PLM best practices
- Support PLM integrations with downstream and upstream systems (e.g., ERP, CAD, manufacturing systems)
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and continuous improvement
- Participate in global PLM rollout planning, deployment readiness, and post-deployment stabilization
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Work Experience
- 10 years of experience in PLM, engineering systems, or product development process roles
- Strong hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM or equivalent enterprise PLM platforms
- Experience leading PLM process adoption, transformation, or global rollout initiatives
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business-oriented language
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in cross-functional environments
- Deep knowledge of product development and change management processes (NPD, ECN, MCN)
- Experience as a Windchill Solution Architect or PLM functional lead
- Experience supporting global, multi-division engineering organizations
- Experience developing training materials, standards, and governance models for PLM processes
- Knowledge of CAD, MBD, manufacturing process management, or digital thread concepts
- Knowledge of PLM–ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle) and middleware technologies
