We are hiring for our client for the role of Senior Platform Support Engineer. This role focuses on providing advanced technical support and engineering expertise across Gardenlinux, KVM-based virtualization, and Gardener Kubernetes platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex system issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring stability across infrastructure layers.

Key Responsibilities
Gardenlinux
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Gardenlinux environments
- Troubleshoot OS-level, kernel, and package-related issues
- Debug custom image builds and runtime behavior
- Recommend performance tuning and system hardening improvements
KVM Virtualization Stack (QEMU, Libvirt, Cloud Hypervisor)
- Configure and integrate KVM-based virtualization environments
- Analyze and resolve hypervisor and VM-level issues
- Optimize performance across compute, networking, and storage layers
- Debug and tune Cloud Hypervisor and Libvirt configurations
Gardener Kubernetes Platform
- Troubleshoot control plane and shoot cluster issues
- Perform root cause analysis for provisioning, scaling, and upgrade failures
- Review configurations and optimize system performance
- Support integration between Gardener, Gardenlinux, and KVM-based nodes
Required Skills
Gardenlinux Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Debian-based Linux systems and kernel configuration
- Experience with Gardenlinux image customization and build pipelines
- Expertise in package management, systemd, and OS hardening
- Ability to debug performance, boot, and kernel-level issues
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for OS image deployment
KVM / Virtualization Expertise
- Deep understanding of KVM, QEMU, and Libvirt architecture
- Experience with Cloud Hypervisor environments
- Strong knowledge of virtualization networking (bridges, VLANs, SDN) and storage (NFS)
- Understanding of hardware virtualization and NUMA alignment
- Scripting skills (Golang, Python, Bash)
- Experience with host-level performance tuning and debugging
Gardener Kubernetes Expertise
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals (control plane, scheduling, networking)
- Hands-on experience with Gardener architecture (seed and shoot clusters)
- Experience in cluster lifecycle management and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Perses)
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and post-mortem documentation
Deliverables
- Incident troubleshooting reports with detailed technical analysis
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for critical incidents
