Merino is OCI's internal CI/CD change workflow platform, enabling the reliable build, validation, approval, and deployment of software across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. As OCI continues to scale its cloud services, Merino plays a critical role in improving release automation, deployment safety, developer productivity, and operational excellence across engineering teams.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and evolve the next generation of Merino's platform capabilities. This hands-on engineering role focuses on developing scalable distributed systems, modern CI/CD workflows, and cloud-native platform services that power OCI software delivery. The successful candidate will contribute across the full software lifecycle-from architecture and implementation to deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience building cloud-native or developer platform services, and a passion for delivering reliable, maintainable systems. They thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and leverage modern engineering practices-including AI-assisted development-to improve productivity while maintaining high standards for quality, security, testing, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
.5+ years of professional software engineering experience building distributed systems, cloud services, developer platforms, or CI/CD infrastructure.
.Strong programming experience in Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar languages.
.Experience designing, building, and operating production cloud services on OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent platforms.
.Experience with CI/CD systems, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, containers, orchestration, or deployment pipelines.
.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
.Excellent communication, collaboration, and software engineering fundamentals.
Preferred Experience
.Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar coding assistants.
.Experience reviewing, validating, and maintaining AI-generated code for production systems.
.Experience using AI to accelerate software development through code generation, testing, refactoring, documentation, or migration activities.
.Experience building internal developer platforms with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
.Experience with release orchestration, progressive delivery, rollback strategies, and large-scale production deployments.
