About The Role
To support the development effort of the Integrated Developer Platform (IDP), you will be automating release processes and building tools to help Signant Health developers.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will help us extend and scale Signant's engineering infrastructure. You will build an internal development platform that brings joy to your end users developers like you and you are passionate about multiplying engineering force through automation, orchestration, documentation, and productivity tools.
What You Will Do
- Work with technical leadership to influence product feature direction, including prototyping innovative ideas
- Help the team estimate software deliverables across multiple sprints
- Design and implement tools that help engineering teams focus on shipping features, while ensuring infrastructure is cost-efficient, secure, and reliable
- Build end-to-end features and tools for developers using various languages in our tech stack such as Python, Node, and Go
- Design and build technical integrations between cloud services and popular developer tools like ArgoCD, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, and Bitbucket
- Coach and mentor junior developers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical major (comparable experience will be considered)
- 5+ years of experience functioning as a Software Engineer
- Passion for reducing toil and solving problems with automation (e.g., Python, Node, Bash)
- Experience building systems with service-oriented architecture and event-driven architecture
- Understanding of software monitoring and metrics strategies using tools like CloudWatch, Honeycomb, and Splunk
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, TravisCI, AWS CodeBuild, GitLab CI/CD, or Bitbucket Cloud
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK
- Experience with the container toolchain Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, EKS, and ArgoCD
- Experience with serverless/stateless technologies and AWS services including Fargate, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and DynamoDB
Desired Qualifications
- Project or code portfolio demonstrating relevant platform engineering work
- Experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS
- Background in developer experience (DevEx) or internal tooling teams
- Familiarity with observability platforms and distributed tracing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document systems and processes clearly
- Self-driven, with initiative and the ability to work independently
