Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based production, development, and testing environments.
- Manage Linux servers, virtual machines, Docker containers, and containerized application deployments.
- Develop Python-based tools for infrastructure automation, monitoring, reporting, and operational analytics.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployment and platform operations.
- Administer enterprise data platform components, including databases, streaming infrastructure, and monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to provision and maintain model training, orchestration, and inference environments.
- Deploy and support API-based services, machine learning applications, and containerized workloads.
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure architectures for enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize platform reliability and capacity.
- Implement infrastructure security, patch management, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve platform scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support global platform deployments and ongoing operations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers on infrastructure and platform engineering best practices
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's / master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Linux administration ( Rocky Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or equivalent) , platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
- 3 years of experience in Server Virtualization, VM Management & Infrastructure Operations

- Docker, Containerization & Container Lifecycle Management
- Python Scripting, Automation & REST API Development
- CI/CD Pipelines, Git & DevOps Practices
- Linux Networking, System Security, Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting
- Enterprise Data Platforms (PostgreSQL, Kafka, TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, Grafana)
- AI/ML Infrastructure (MLflow, Airflow, FastAPI, GPU Servers, MLOps)
- Infrastructure Automation, Monitoring & Observability
- Scalable Platform Architecture, High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
- May require collaborating and coordinating with counterparts from different geographic regions and time zones.
- The work mode of Finisar India is 5 days in office.
