The Role
Lead Snowflake architecture, governance, performance optimization, and operational reliability across enterprise data warehouse environments. Use specific relational database management systems, develop and implement database recovery mechanisms and security procedures.
What You Will Do
- Architect and administer Snowflake environments
- Optimize performance and cost governance
- Implement RBAC and compliance controls
- Design replication and disaster recovery strategies
- Lead production incident response
- Support multiple database technologies on public and private cloud infrastructure for business-critical applications
- Troubleshoot, patch, upgrade, report, tune for performance and handle operational issues
- Improve and promote operational scalability and standardization.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain a variety of database and cloud technologies
- Diagnose OS, network and storage issues related to database
- Coordinating with IT and developers on new product releases
- Create tools and processes to automate administration and monitoring
- Work with Database and Cloud vendors to resolve challenges as needed
- On-call support
What You Will Have
- 6+ years of data platform or database engineering experience
- 2+ years administering Snowflake in production
- 2+ years managing high-availability or DR strategies
- Experience supporting cloud-based data platforms
- Problem-solving skills with various SQL and No-SQL technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake)
- Scripting language Exposure/Experience (Bash, Korn, Perl, Python)
