Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Planner - Civil & Digital Transformation.
The responsibilities are split between traditional project planning / tendering for largescale civil works and contributing to our digital development initiatives (automation, AI adoption, and software evaluation).
The ideal candidate will have strong background in civil engineering planning and project controls, paired with a passion for cutting-edge construction technology, 4D BIM modelling, and process automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Projects / Tender Planning:
- Develop comprehensive, logic-linked baseline schedules (CPM) for complex civil works tenders and active projects using Primavera P6 or Synchro 4D Pro.
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and analysis of 4D BIM schedules, linking time data directly to 3D models to visually simulate construction sequences, identify clashes, and optimize logistics.
- Analyse tender documents, method statements, and structural drawings to determine optimal construction sequences, resource loading, and cash flow forecasting.
- Conduct risk assessments on schedules (Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis) and identify critical path constraints.
Digital Development & Technology Innovation
- Process Automation: Identify process and or areas of improvement, conceptualise, evaluate and implement solutions to automate project reporting, data collection, and dashboard creation (e.g., integrating P6 data with Power BI or custom APIs).
- Software Evaluation: Review, test, and evaluate emerging project management platforms, 4D/5D BIM software, and site tracking tools to improve company-wide efficiency.
- AI Adoption: Collaborate and drive the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools within project controls (e.g., predictive analytics for scheduling, automated progress tracking).
- Change Management: Act as the bridge between site teams and GDX team for training and onboarding staff on newly adopted digital workflows and tools.
Required Skill Set & Qualifications:
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a highly related technical discipline.
- Total Experience: 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a heavy emphasis on major Civil Works (e.g., infrastructure, earthworks, concrete structures, highways, or marine works).
- 4D BIM Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience specifically creating and managing 4D construction sequences.
- Previous experience on LTA projects will be advantageous
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
- Core Planning: Primavera P6 (Expert level) and MSProject.
- 4D BIM Tools: Synchro 4D Pro is a must, Fuzor and / or Navisworks advantageous.
- Data & Automation: Power BI and Excel (Advanced). Exposure to Python or SQL is a plus.
- Collaboration Platforms: Familiar with CDEs such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Infrastructure Cloud, Aconex, or similar.
Soft Skills
- Tech-Savvy Mindset: A natural curiosity for emerging tech, AI, and digital workflows.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to evaluate whether a new tool provides genuine ROI or just hype.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical or digital concepts to non-technical stakeholders and field teams.
