Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Piping Materials Engineer with 10+ years in EPC environments to support major onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. The role requires in-depth knowledge of piping materials engineering, specifications, and procurement processes, with the ability to lead discipline activities across various project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review piping material specifications, valve data sheets, and piping classes in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
- Lead material selection based on process conditions, corrosive environments, and client specifications.
- Conduct technical evaluations for vendor offers and support procurement in material sourcing.
- Ensure design compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, and other relevant industry codes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, procurement, construction) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve vendor documents, material test certificates, and other deliverables.
- Support construction and commissioning teams with material-related technical guidance and issue resolution.
- Drive quality and consistency across material engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Piping Materials Engineer in EPC oil & gas projects (onshore and offshore).
- Extensive knowledge of international piping material standards and specifications.
- Strong familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3/B31.8, API, ASTM, NACE.
- Proficient in material take-offs, BOMs, and material management systems (e.g., SmartPlant Materials).
- Experience with vendor coordination and procurement engineering.
- Strong communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
