Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Layout Engineer with over 12 years of experience to join our engineering team in Chennai. This role focuses on the high-level design and meticulous checking of piping layouts for offshore facilities. The successful candidate must possess deep technical knowledge of Saudi Aramco CRPO standards and offshore design constraints, ensuring that layouts are optimized for safety, operability, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Layout Development: Lead the development of complex piping layouts and equipment arrangements for offshore platforms, ensuring efficient use of space and adherence to safety clearances.
- Design & Checking: Perform rigorous checking of 3D models, piping general arrangement (GA) drawings, and piping isometrics for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Support Engineering: Oversee the placement and selection of piping supports, ensuring they align with stress requirements and structural integrity.
- Standard Compliance: Ensure all design deliverables comply with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and specific CRPO project specifications.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with Stress, Structural, and Process departments to resolve clashes and optimize the overall design.
- Material Management: Review and validate Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Piping Specialty Item lists.
- Quality Control: Lead design reviews and 30%/60%/90% model reviews with clients, ensuring all technical comments are addressed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years in Piping Layout and Design within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Industry Specifics: Proven experience in Offshore projects (Platforms/FPSO) and a strong background in Saudi Aramco CRPO workflows.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Checking Isometrics and Support drawings.
- Proficiency in 3D design software (E3D, PDMS, or S3D) and Navisworks.
- Deep understanding of ASME B31.3 and Aramco standards.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chennai.
