About the Role
We are seeking a highly experiencedSenior Backend Developerwith deep expertise in Laravel to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of professional experience, with a strong focus on building scalable, robust backend systems using the Laravel framework. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications, while leveraging your extensive knowledge in managing multiple database systems and cloud infrastructure to ensure high performance, security, and reliability.
This is a senior-level position requiring independent problem-solving, architectural decision-making, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications and RESTful APIs using Laravel and PHP.
- Architect and implement scalable server-side logic, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness.
- Manage and optimize multiple database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis), including schema design, query optimization, migrations, and integrations via Eloquent ORM.
- Handle complex data interactions across relational and NoSQL databases in production environments.
- Deploy, manage, and scale applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including services like EC2, RDS, S3, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security best practices for cloud-based deployments.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in live production systems.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to integrate backend services seamlessly.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and suggest improvements for system architecture and performance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 6+ yearsof professional experience as a Backend Developer, with at least 4-5 years hands-on expertise in Laravel (preferably versions 9+).
- Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale Laravel applications.
- Extensive experiencemanaging multiple databases (SQL and NoSQL), including advanced query optimization, indexing, and handling high-traffic data workloads.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure(AWS, Azure, or GCP), including deployment, scaling, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Strong proficiency in PHP (8+), OOP principles, MVC architecture, and Laravel ecosystem tools (e.g., Queue, Horizon, Telescope).
- Experience with RESTful API design, authentication (e.g., Sanctum, Passport), caching (Redis), and testing (PHPUnit, Feature tests).
- Familiarity with version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of web security principles, performance tuning, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microservices architecture or serverless deployments.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., React & NextJs) for full-stack contributions.
- Contributions to open-source projects or Laravel community.
- Relevant certifications in Laravel, PHP, or cloud platforms.
